Double celebrations for visitors

We were delighted that regular visitors Norman and Anne chose to stay at our site on 10th October to celebrate Norman’s 80th birthday, which happened to be the same weekend that visitors Paul and Helen were also celebrating their 29th wedding anniversary.

Although the four had met during a visit last year, it was a last minute decision on Norman and Anne’s behalf that brought them here for their third visit this year, which exceeds their usual two! We love to see our regular visitors and catch up with their news and I enjoyed seeing the celebrations when our visitors got together on the 10th, as you will see by the photo!

Find us at the end of the rainbow!

We’ve always said our Site is located just one minutes drive from the main dual carriageway running through Devon and Cornwall but never at the end of the rainbow!

We’re sure we’re not alone in having a slightly damp start to the weather in 2015 but we hope this is a sign of better things to come!

Winter at Wolf Valley

Although we’re closed for winter we wanted to give you a little update from the site, and the weather we’ve been having.
Despite Storm Imogen battering the South West today we’ve been in luck recently, with a rainbow seen over our lakes just the other day.

Enjoy the photos!

End of Season

So we have reached the end of another successful season with many compliments on our site. Looking forward to next year we are going to make some changes to our opening times having bought a caravan last season but found we have been too busy to get away this season! We hope also to have woodland walks available to our visitors next season, having bought 43 acres of woodland adjoining the fishing lakes, we have been busy this summer making up the tracks etc. We will start taking bookings for 2016 in January and will announce the changes at the end of December.

We are also looking for anyone who would like to spend a few weeks on site and keep an eye on things for us, so if you are interested please email us at anneworden@virgin.net.

The goose has returned!

As you can see by the photos our goose is back and sitting on her eggs.

Our site will be open again on Monday 27th April for the 2015 season, weather dry and warm at present lets hope for a good season. The site will close this year on the 16th October, so we are open for business up to that date so do take a look at our booking calendar to see what the availability is like.

After great week of weather our CL Site will be opening for the 2015 season next Monday, 27th April.

Lets hope the weather continues to be dry and the sun shines on us this summer!

The site will be open right through to 16th October 2015, so if you are looking to book please take a look at our availability calendar, which we’ll try to keep as up to date as possible for you.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Wolf Valley again this year!

The end of a busy season

As the photos show in late September, John and helpers took down the level of the water in Spring Lake to remove much of the weed.  It did not seem to affect the fishing as within a week good fishing was reported in the lake.

Our season finally closed on the 25th October, later than usual but we do seem to have had quite a few visitors wanting a late break.  We have again enjoyed a good season with lots of positive feed back and happy fisherman, I am sure the weather this summer has helped.

If you are wanting to book for next year, we take bookings from January 2015.   We are hoping to now enjoy a couple of months away from the CL site and maybe even get time to take our caravan out weather permitting!

Our latest testimonials and quotes from visitors

We leave a comment book on our CL Site so that those staying with us can let us know exactly how they felt about the site, their stay and how much they enjoyed their visit.

Here’s some of the quotes we’ve received so far in the 2014 season.

If you’re still looking to get away while the weather’s still hot then please do check our availability calendar and we hope to see you soon!

One Great Photo!

Despite being just one mile from the A30 people are always surprised at how remote and tranquil our CL Site is. This photo was taken from a local farm in the parish, showing that just don’t know what great wildlife there is right on your own doorstep!

Returning Visitors

It is with much pleasure that we can report that 81 year old Mr Young from Bristol and his 80 year old wife returned once more this year for a two week stay. In that time he fished every day except one and on that day he and his wife walked Lydford Gorge! What an inspiration they are.

Here are a few photos taken during their stay…

Goslings grow up quick

Those of you that have visited our blog and website over the past few weeks will have seem that we’ve been adding photos of our resident Canadian geese and their goslings, who have chosen to make the Wolf Valley their home for the 2014 summer.

Here’s a few more for you. They’re certainly growing very quickly!

There’s plenty of wildlife in and around our CL Site and some great walks to make sure you have a front row seat of all of it!

Please check the availability calendars throughout the site to make sure your preferred dates are available. We’re filling up quickly so we advise booking early to avoid disappointment.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
